Materials to use when building
There is alot you can use but 1 of the most used things is plywood and wire. You can get plywood for the sided and top or you can use wire to make the cover which ever you choose make sure you build it strong if it is a bigger reptile like a monitor or large snake. You can find all the supplies at your local home depot or any other lumber suppliers. Your cage should be about 1 1/2 to 2 times the length of your reptile and double its width for the width of the cage and should be high enough to stand up and not touch the roof of the cage. Make sure you buy plenty of screws and a strong latch for the door.
Lights
Your reptile must have a UV light and a heat light. If you do not know to much about UV your reptile needs UVB rays to survive those are the rays they get from the sun and UVA is for its color plus it is a type of ray to help plants grow. Plants
Your reptile should always have plants if it is a tropical reptile or any type of snake most reptiles just like plants so go to the store and buy FAKE plants to put in your reptile cage. They are not needed but are prefered by most reptiles.
