SO YOU HAVE YOUR REPTILE AND YOU ARE NOT SURE HOW TO SET UP ITS ENVIRONMENT? WELL HERE YOU GO ALL THE INFO NEEDED.
Desert Cage Instructions
Ok there is alot you can do for this. Here are some things to use. You can use either sand or tree bark peices for the case of this cage. Keep the temperature pretty high proboblly around 85-90 Degrees Ferenheit so use a heat lamp or heat pad just make sure it wont get to hot or your reptile may get burnt. Now most desert reptiles cant swim but do enjoy just sitting in a shallow bowl of water so find something flat the will not be able to get deep water in it and fill it with cool water and replace the water everyday they get it dirty easily. Now they do need shade so give it a few hiding spots if you cant afford the bark hiding spots at the store just tear a shoe box in half and put it in they enjoy that but geive it a few bushs to hide in fake ones that is. If you do this keep your temp. high enough for your reptile (which can be learned in the reptile care sheets spot in the forum) it will be very happy and healthy but make sure there is no draft and if your reptiles cage is not hot enough put a blanket over the cage to keep the heat in and humidity low. GOOD LUCK.
Tropical Cage Info
Tropical reptiles enjoy a warm environment not a hot one, so keep it semi warm in its terrerium (which tempetures can be learned in the care sheets section of the forum) and it will be happy. You will most likly want to use wood chips or news paper on the bottom of the cage, wood chips will keep a better real looking environment but will be much more expensive then news paper. Now most tropical reptiles also enjoy swimming so either give your reptile a swimming spot or give it a bath alot every week if not a swimming spot give it some type of water to sit in. Now also tropical reptiles like climbing so give it plenty of climbing branchs also provide hiding spots which can be made of shoe boxs or a bucket or anything else that is bought at a pet store. Now one more thing most tropical reptiles enjoy sitting in or under plants so provide fake plants that can be purchased almost anywhere.
HALF LAND HALF WATER
Ok so you just bought that water dragon or other water reptile or anphibian. You will need a tank that has half of the area land and half a swimming section. So you can buy something to prop up your land and use wood chips and alot of plants. Also use water for the other half. So make sure they have plenty of plants to climb around on and they need a medium tempeture so you do need all UV lighting and heat lighting. Now make sure the tank is cleaned as much as possible to keep a clean tank. You will also need to have a water heater and this environment needs to be high in humidity. This is not all the info needed so keep researching and good luck.
